At the top, the view opened across the valley.
There it was. St George’s Monastery carved into the cliffside like something out of a storybook.
The monastery dates back to the 6th century and is still active today, inhabited by Greek Orthodox monks. It is connected by a pedestrian bridge and is often linked with Psalm 23 imagery.
