Our flight from San Francisco to Boston was long, but thankfully direct, which made the whole journey feel easier than expected. The last thing I wanted after landing was to spend hours stuck at a car rental desk.

After landing, we grabbed the shuttle to Dollar Rent a Car. Straight away we hit a few hurdles. I was meant to be the driver, but the payment card situation got complicated because my wallet had gone missing somewhere during our travels.
The staff explained that the primary driver needed to be the cardholder. After some back and forth, they eventually added me as an additional driver so I could still drive, while keeping the payment under my husband’s card.

Five minutes later, it was sorted, and we were finally on our way.

Our first stop was a friend’s home in a leafy coastal suburb. We had met them in Belize during a previous trip, so it felt surreal reconnecting in Boston.

It is an optional Boston family activity rather than a must-do. Although the Duck Tour we did in Seattle was a huge highlight.

It is busy, loud, and full of food stalls from every direction. Perfect for families because everyone can pick something different.
We tried everything from quick lunches to Boston classics like cream pie and whoopie pies. Some wins, some not so much, but that is travel.

After lunch, we headed back for downtime. The kids played in the backyard, ran through sprinklers, and had a proper reset.
