Atlantis Aquaventure With Kids: Was $250 for 3 Hours Worth It?

Have you ever been so frightened that your legs start shaking?

Your hands turn clammy. Your throat goes dry. What seemed like a fabulous idea only seconds earlier suddenly feels foolish, irrational, and possibly life-ending.

A scream erupted from somewhere deep inside the dark tunnel. Then the flashing light changed from red to green.

There was no backing out now.

I crossed my legs, folded my arms across my chest, squeezed my eyes shut and screamed as the water pounded against me. I shot down the Leap of Faith, dropping through a dark, twisting waterslide before racing into a transparent tunnel surrounded by swimming sharks.

Then it was over.

Except it wasn’t the end.

Within seconds, the terrifying experience that had occupied every corner of my brain suddenly seemed almost trivial. I had survived. I was thrilled. And, naturally, I was ready to find another slide capable of frightening the life out of me.

Our visit to Atlantis Aquaventure on Paradise Island cost us US$250 for two adults, and we had only three hours to experience one of the biggest water parks in The Bahamas.

We visited Atlantis Aquaventure on 23 January 2013, during our family cruise through The Bahamas. The US$125 adult price, including towels and ticket arrangements described in my story, reflects that original visit. Atlantis now uses date-based day-pass pricing, so today’s experience can cost considerably more.

Was Atlantis Aquaventure worth it?

Let me take you back to our ridiculously expensive, wildly rushed, and surprisingly unforgettable afternoon.

Aquaventure is currently a 141-acre water park with high-speed waterslides, resort pools, beaches and a rapid river. Admission is included for registered Atlantis hotel guests, while cruise passengers and other visitors must purchase a limited-availability day pass before arriving. 

Where Is Atlantis Aquaventure?

Atlantis Paradise Island is located on Paradise Island, just across the harbour from Nassau in The Bahamas.

Nassau and Paradise Island are connected by a bridge. A taxi from downtown Nassau or the cruise terminal generally takes around 10 to 20 minutes, depending on traffic. Water taxis also travel between Nassau and Paradise Island, with the crossing itself taking approximately ten minutes.

It is not a small resort with a couple of slides beside the swimming pool.

It is enormous.

Atlantis contains hotels, restaurants, marine habitats, beaches, pools, a casino and enough water-based entertainment to keep a family occupied for several days.

We gave ourselves three hours.

Arriving in Nassau on Our Family Cruise

Our cruise ship docked in Nassau early that morning, but we did not look out of our windows until after 9am.

When we finally did, the view was so much prettier than the sullied scenery that had greeted us in Freeport, Bahamas.

Both Mia and Caius had chosen to spend the day in the cruise ship’s kids club. We dropped them off at 10am and set out to explore Nassau by ourselves.

Although this was a family cruise, the kids did not come to Aquaventure with us that day. That decision saved us money, but it also meant I spent a large part of the visit assessing whether Atlantis Aquaventure with young kids would have worked for Mia and Caius.

At the time, Mia was four and Caius was two.

As we soon discovered, they would have been too short for almost every major waterslide we wanted to ride.

The Nassau cruise port was packed with tourists. Four enormous cruise ships were in port, and it appeared that every single passenger had decided to step onto the island at precisely the same time.

We followed the crowd into a small entrance hall where people immediately offered to sell us tours, taxi rides and boat transfers.

The hall was also filled with people sitting behind laptops.

Free Wi-Fi can do that to travellers.

We had already decided that we wanted to visit the Atlantis water park, so we chose a boat ride to Paradise Island.

Taking the Ferry From Nassau to Paradise Island

At the time of our visit, the boat cost US$4 per person.

We were guided through the markets and towards the ferry, where our wonderfully entertaining guide began pointing out some of the area’s famous homes and landmarks.

He showed us Nicolas Cage’s former home, the place where Anna Nicole Smith had died and a yoga retreat he absolutely did not recommend.

Apparently, the retreat had four rules that made vacationing incredibly dull:

1. No eating meat
2. No smoking
3. No drinking
4. No sex

Hardly the carefree Bahamian holiday he had in mind.

Current ferry prices vary, so confirm the fare and return schedule directly with the operator.

The boat trip gave us lovely harbour views, but the ferry does not drop visitors directly beside the Aquaventure entrance.

Once we reached Paradise Island, we still had a fair walk ahead of us.

Buying Our Atlantis Aquaventure Day Passes

After arriving on the island, we walked until we found the casino and the place selling Atlantis Aquaventure day passes.

The tickets were US$125 per adult.

Each.

That meant we spent US$250 before riding a single waterslide.

At the time, children aged four to ten cost US$80. We were suddenly very grateful that Mia and Caius had happily chosen the kids club.

Our day passes included access to the aquarium, beaches, waterslides, pools, towels and sun loungers.

Today, the Atlantis Aquaventure day pass system operates differently. Non-resort guests must buy their passes in advance, and prices vary by day and season rather than remaining at one set amount. Adults are classified as guests aged 13 and older, children’s passes apply from ages four to 12, and children under three enter free. 

The current day pass includes access to Aquaventure, most Atlantis pools, beaches and marine habitats. Towels and lockers may carry an additional cost for day visitors.

Atlantis also recommends booking directly through its official website because passes are limited and may sell out.

So, could a present-day Atlantis Aquaventure day pass for a family cost substantially more than our US$250 adult visit?

Very possibly.

The exact total depends on your date, the age of your children, and whether you add food, drinks, transport, lockers, towels or a private cabana.

Current Atlantis Aquaventure Day-Pass Costs

Atlantis uses dynamic pricing, so day-pass costs change according to the date, season, demand and availability. The official website does not publish one permanent price list, which means these examples should be treated as a guide rather than a guaranteed rate.

These examples show how quickly the price can climb. A family of four could easily spend around US$600 or more on admission alone, before adding transport, meals, drinks, towels or a locker.

The official Atlantis calendar confirms that prices vary by date and season, children under three enter free, and reservations are recommended because the number of day passes available each day is limited. Always enter your exact date into the official booking calendar before publishing or booking, as live prices may be higher or lower than these examples.

Atlantis Aquaventure Family-of-Four Budget

The day passes are only the beginning of the Atlantis Aquaventure cost for a family.

A realistic family budget should include transport, food, towels, a locker and any extra drinks or snacks purchased during the day.

Estimated January Full-Day Budget for Two Adults and Two Children

For a family of four visiting Atlantis Aquaventure in January, I would budget approximately US$850 to US$1,000 for the full day. That includes admission, return transport from Nassau, a locker, towels, a casual lunch and a few drinks or snacks.

Atlantis confirms that day-pass prices vary by date and season, children under three enter free, and bookings are required for non-resort guests. Lockers are available for cashless rental, but Atlantis does not currently publish a fixed locker price on its main day-pass page.

January price note: This budget uses an estimated January admission price of US$170 per adult and US$120 per child. Atlantis uses dynamic pricing, so check the official calendar for the exact date you plan to visit. Prices may be higher during New Year, school holidays and busy cruise-port dates.

This is a planning estimate rather than an official Atlantis package price. Food choices, transport fares and how many snacks your children suddenly require after seeing the prices will all affect the total.

Families can reduce costs by eating breakfast before arriving, carrying refillable water bottles where permitted and bringing their own towels if current rules allow.

Do not forget to budget for the return journey. Spending your final dollars on frozen drinks before discovering your taxi driver only accepts cash would add a level of excitement that Aquaventure’s slides simply cannot provide.

What Is Included in an Atlantis Aquaventure Day Pass?

A current Aquaventure day pass provides non-resort guests with access to the water park and most of its major outdoor attractions.

This generally includes:

• Aquaventure waterslides
• The Rapids River
• Most Atlantis swimming pools
• Resort beaches
• The marine habitats
• The Dig
• Access to public resort areas
• Sun loungers, subject to availability

Food, drinks, lockers, towels, cabanas and additional animal encounters may cost extra.

Day passes are required for non-resort guests to access Aquaventure, the marine habitats, pools and beaches. Tickets are available on a limited basis and should be booked before visiting. 

That is considerably more organised than our approach, which was essentially:

“Atlantis looks fun. Let’s take a boat over there.”

Walking Through The Dig at Atlantis

After buying our tickets, we walked through The Dig to reach the pools and waterslides.

The Dig is designed like an underwater archaeological labyrinth inspired by the mythical lost city of Atlantis. Its chambers are filled with ruins, passageways and marine life.

It was atmospheric, elaborate and far more than a convenient walkway to the water park.

The aquarium and marine habitats are experiences in their own right, but we had already started mentally calculating how much every minute of our visit was costing.

US$250 divided by three hours.

No pressure.

We moved quickly.

Our First Look at Atlantis Aquaventure

When we finally stepped into Aquaventure, we realised just how enormous it was.

Pools, towers, bridges, slides, beaches and pathways stretched in every direction. We had no idea where to begin.

Then we spotted a waterslide running through a shark lagoon. 

Decision made.

Usually, when we visited theme parks and water parks with Mia and Caius, one adult stayed with the children while the other went on a ride alone.

This was one of the rare occasions when we could grab a double tube and ride the slides together.

It felt rebellious.

It also felt suspiciously easy.

No negotiations. No swapping adults. No small child announcing they needed the toilet the moment we reached the front of the queue.

Atlantis Aquaventure Height Requirements for Kids

At the time of our visit, many waterslides had height restrictions of either 46 or 48 inches.

Today, families should check the rules for every ride before visiting. Many of Aquaventure’s major slides require riders to be at least 48 inches, or approximately 122 centimetres, tall.

Mia and Caius would not have qualified for those attractions during our visit.

That does not mean Aquaventure has nothing for small children.

Dedicated children’s water-play areas offer smaller slides, fountains and interactive features for younger guests.

This is one of the most important things parents should consider when deciding whether Atlantis Aquaventure is worth it with kids.

Younger children can certainly have fun, but they may not be able to experience the famous slides that attract many families in the first place.

Atlantis Aquaventure Ride Guide by Child Height

A child’s height can completely change whether an Atlantis Aquaventure day pass feels worthwhile.

Measure every child before booking. Do not rely on age, optimism or the belief that holiday sandals might add two inches.

Children Under 48 Inches

Children below 48 inches cannot ride most of Aquaventure’s headline waterslides.

Depending on the current attraction rules, they can enjoy:

• Dedicated children’s play areas
• Children’s pools and splash features
• Resort beaches
• Marine habitats
• The Dig
• Selected swimming pools
• Calmer water attractions permitted for their height
• The Rapids River only when they meet the attraction’s safety requirements

This age group can still have a wonderful day, but parents should decide whether the day-pass price feels reasonable when the famous slides are unavailable.

Children 48 Inches and Taller

Once children reach 48 inches, they can access many of the major Aquaventure attractions, subject to individual ride rules.

These may include:

• Leap of Faith
• Serpent Slide
• Challenger Slide
• The Abyss
• The Surge
• The Drop
• The Falls
• Rapids River

This is the height at which Atlantis Aquaventure generally starts offering much better value for thrill-seeking children.

Younger Children and Dedicated Play Areas

Aquaventure has dedicated water-play spaces designed for younger children, with smaller slides, fountains, water cannons and interactive features.

Children tall enough for the major rides may still enjoy these areas, particularly when travelling with younger siblings.

Teenagers and Confident Older Children

Teenagers and confident older children are likely to get the greatest value from Aquaventure.

They can use the major rides, enjoy the Rapids River within park rules and spend less of the day crying because water touched their face.

Parents should still discuss meeting points and what to do if anyone becomes separated. Aquaventure covers 141 acres, which is not where you want to discover your family’s communication plan consists entirely of shouting each other’s names.

Riding the Serpent Slide Through Atlantis Shark Lagoon

Our first ride used a double tube.

We entered a dark, twisting tunnel that spun and shoved us along before depositing us into a transparent acrylic tunnel.

Our tube slowed down and floated gently through the lagoon while fish and sharks swam around us.

There was something wonderfully absurd about being trapped inside a clear tube, wearing swimwear and sitting on an inflatable ring while sharks cruised past.

At the end, a strong current pushed us through a waterfall and into the exit pool.

It was awesome.

The attraction is officially called the Serpent Slide. It begins with a twisting ride through the Mayan Temple and ends inside the submerged transparent tunnel.

It was almost as memorable as the Leap of Faith.

Almost.

Surviving the Leap of Faith at Atlantis

Leap of Faith is the iconic Atlantis waterslide most people have seen in photographs.

It begins at the top of the Mayan Temple with an almost vertical drop. Riders then race through a transparent acrylic tunnel submerged in a lagoon filled with marine life.

It looked terrifying from the bottom.

It looked even worse from the top.

Waiting for the light to change was possibly the longest few seconds of my life.

Then it flashed green, and gravity took over.

I crossed my legs, folded my arms, squeezed my eyes shut and screamed as I dropped into the darkness.

The water hammered against me. The tunnel twisted. My brain attempted to remind me that sharks were somewhere nearby.

Then I shot out of the Atlantis shark slide, landed safely and realised I had loved every second.

Fear is a strange thing.

One moment, I was convinced I had made an appalling decision. The next, I was looking for another slide.

The Best Atlantis Aquaventure Rides We Experienced

Aquaventure had slides that appeared to carry riders uphill.

That’s right.

No endless staircase required.

There were water rollercoasters that dropped us down before propelling us upwards again. There were slides through pitch-black tunnels, straight drops, tube rides and attractions that sent us directly into the rapid river.

The Rapids River was one of my favourites.

This was not a gentle lazy river where you drift peacefully while contemplating lunch.

It had waves, elevations, strong currents and white-water rapids.

It was fun, chaotic and exciting.

Every time we turned a corner, we found another swimming pool, another line of deck chairs or another beach with powdery white sand.

The water was so clear that we could see straight through to the bottom.

Aquaventure was genuinely top-notch.

My only complaint was that every fabulous discovery came with the crushing reminder that our three-hour clock was still ticking.

What We Managed to Do in Three Hours at Atlantis Aquaventure

During our short Atlantis Aquaventure visit, we managed to:

• Walk through The Dig
• Ride the Serpent Slide
• Brave Leap of Faith
• Experience several tube and body slides
• Float through the Rapids River
• Swim in one of the pools
• Spend a little time at the beach
• Walk approximately seventeen thousand kilometres around the resort

That last measurement may not be scientifically accurate, but it certainly felt that way.

Atlantis is vast, and moving between attractions takes time. You also need to allow time for changing, finding lockers, collecting wristbands, checking the map and waiting in queues.

Three hours was enough to experience the atmosphere and enjoy several major attractions.

It was not enough to experience Aquaventure properly.

Is Three Hours Enough at Atlantis Aquaventure?

No.

Three hours at Atlantis Aquaventure is better than no hours at Atlantis Aquaventure, but it is not nearly enough for a relaxed family visit.

We rushed from one attraction to another, watching the time and making decisions based on how quickly we could reach the next slide.

We did not have time to explore every pool, spend long at the beach, relax over lunch or properly appreciate the marine habitats.

Families should ideally allow a full day.

Aquaventure’s operating hours can vary, so check the official schedule for your exact date. Arriving early gives you the best opportunity to get value from an expensive day pass.

Full-Day Atlantis Aquaventure Itinerary With Kids

Three hours gave us enough time to fall in love with Aquaventure and nowhere near enough time to enjoy it properly.

For better value from an Atlantis Aquaventure day pass with kids, I would plan the day like this.

8:30am: Arrive and Check In

Arrive before the water park opens so you have time to collect wristbands, complete any required check-in steps, change and organise a locker.

Bring your booking confirmation, photo identification and the payment card required under the current booking conditions.

9am: Explore The Dig or Marine Habitats

Use any time before Aquaventure opens to visit The Dig and nearby marine habitats.

This prevents you from sacrificing valuable slide time later in the day and gives everyone a gentler start before being dropped down a near-vertical tunnel surrounded by sharks. The Atlantis shark slide, 

10am: Head Straight to the Major Waterslides

Begin with the most popular attractions before queues grow.

Families with children who meet the relevant height requirements could prioritise:

• Leap of Faith
• Serpent Slide
• The Abyss
• The Surge
• The Drop
• Challenger Slide

Divide and conquer when family members want different thrill levels. One adult can take the more adventurous children while the other begins questioning every decision that led them to the top of the Mayan Temple.

11:30am: Rapids River

Move to the Rapids River before lunch.

Allow plenty of time because this is not a short, peaceful lap around a lazy river. It is an energetic experience with waves, rapids and enough excitement to make you forget how much the day passes cost.

12:30pm: Early Lunch

Eat slightly before the main lunch rush.

Choose a casual dining option near the attractions you plan to visit next, rather than walking across the entire resort in search of the perfect chicken nugget.

1:15pm: Younger Kids’ Water Play

Families with younger children can spend time in the dedicated children’s water-play areas.

Older family members can take turns returning to the large slides while another adult supervises the younger children.

2:30pm: Pools and Beach Time

Slow the day down with a resort pool or some time on the beach.

Check which pools and beach areas are currently included with your day pass, as access can vary.

3:30pm: Return to Favourite Rides

Give everyone one final opportunity to repeat their favourite attraction.

This is also the time to fit in anything you missed earlier, provided your child has not developed an emotional attachment to a particular pool.

4:30pm: Change, Collect Belongings and Leave

Leave enough time to collect your belongings, change and reach your taxi or ferry without recreating our frantic race back to the cruise ship.

Always check the official closing time for your date, as operating hours can change.

Would Atlantis Aquaventure Have Been Worth It With Our Young Kids?

At four and two years old, Mia and Caius would not have been tall enough for the headline waterslides we enjoyed.

We would have spent most of our time taking turns on attractions while one adult remained with the children.

That was our normal water park routine, and it worked, but it would have made our already-short visit even more rushed.

They could have enjoyed the beaches, pools and children’s water-play areas.

Still, I would think carefully before paying full child day-pass prices for very young children, particularly during a brief cruise stop.

For families with older children who meet the height requirements and love thrill rides, Aquaventure could be one of the highlights of a Bahamas holiday.

For toddlers, the answer depends on your budget and whether you value the resort experience beyond the major slides.

Exploring the Atlantis Paradise Island Resort

The resort itself was just as impressive as the water park.

Atlantis offered snorkelling, scuba diving, dolphin experiences, marine exhibits, restaurants, shops and beaches.

The layout and design were immense.

This was not somewhere I wanted to visit for a few rushed hours. It was somewhere I wanted to check into, unpack my suitcase and spend several days exploring.

The Royal Bridge Suite, which spans the connection between sections of The Royal, remains one of Atlantis’s most famous accommodations.

The old published figure of US$25,000 per night is no longer displayed on Atlantis’s official site, so current rates need to be requested directly.

Which is a shame, because I was just about to book four nights.

You know, for research purposes.

Staying at Atlantis Versus Buying Day Passes

Aquaventure access is included for registered Atlantis guests. Non-resort visitors must purchase a date-specific day pass. 

For a family, the cheapest option is not always immediately obvious. A one-night hotel stay may provide better value than four day passes, particularly on expensive dates.

When Staying at Atlantis May Be Better Value

Consider staying at Atlantis when:

• You have two or more children requiring day passes
• You want more than one day at Aquaventure
• Day-pass prices are especially high
• Your children need afternoon naps or quiet breaks
• You want to experience the marine habitats without rushing
• You prefer to avoid repeated taxis or ferry journeys

When Day Passes May Be Better Value

A day pass may make more sense when:

• You are visiting Nassau on a cruise
• Aquaventure is your only Atlantis priority
• You have a full port day
• You are staying elsewhere at a much lower rate
• You can arrive before opening and remain for most of the day

Before deciding, compare:

Hotel rate + resort fees + taxes + other mandatory charges

against:

Day passes + transport + towels + locker + meals

The hotel stay may still cost more, but the difference can become surprisingly small for a family of four on a peak day.

Returning From Paradise Island to Nassau

Once we had squeezed in as many slides as possible, floated through the rapids and briefly enjoyed the beach, we decided to take a taxi back to Nassau.

At the time, it cost us the same as the ferry, US$4 per person.

The journey took us through parts of Nassau away from the resorts and waterfront attractions.

We passed weathered homes, abandoned cars and neighbourhoods experiencing obvious economic hardship.

It was a sharp contrast to Atlantis, where waterfalls tumbled past immaculate pools and luxury suites stretched between towers.

The route reminded me how easily visitors can experience a polished resort while seeing very little of the wider destination or the lives of the people who live there.

Racing Back to the Cruise Ship

We raced back to the ship to collect Mia and Caius, determined to avoid a repeat of the previous day’s bad parenting incident.

Caius fell asleep almost immediately, completely exhausted from his kids club adventures.

Mia and I, apparently still possessing unexplained energy, chose to spend more time at the pool.

Because what does a family need after a day involving a US$250 water park?

More water.

Was Atlantis Aquaventure Worth US$250 for Three Hours?

Yes and no.

Aquaventure itself was absolutely worth experiencing.

The waterslides were inventive, the shark tunnel was unforgettable, the Rapids River was exciting and Leap of Faith gave me one of those travel moments that remains vivid years later.

The park was beautifully designed and packed with more attractions than we could possibly experience in three hours.

But was paying US$250 for only three hours good value?

Not really.

We had fun, but we spent the entire visit rushing. We did not have enough time to explore properly, relax or get full value from our passes.

I would visit Atlantis Aquaventure again, but I would make several changes:

• Buy the passes in advance
• Arrive before opening
• Allow a full day
• Check every child’s height before booking
• Study the park map beforehand
• Decide which attractions matter most
• Budget for food, lockers, towels and transport
• Consider whether staying at Atlantis offers better overall value

Our three-hour visit was extravagant, chaotic and much too short.

It was also unforgettable.

Sometimes those are the stories that stay with you.

Atlantis Aquaventure Pros and Cons

What I Loved

Aquaventure delivered genuinely unusual water park experiences. Leap of Faith, the shark lagoon tunnel and the Rapids River were unlike anything I had experienced before.

The resort was beautiful, the beaches were gorgeous and there was enough variety to suit thrill-seekers, swimmers and families who simply wanted to relax.

What I Did Not Love

The price was difficult to justify for such a short visit.

Atlantis is also so large that valuable time can disappear while walking between attractions. Younger children may be unable to ride most major slides, and day visitors need to budget beyond the admission price for transport, food, towels and lockers.

Tips for Visiting Atlantis Aquaventure With Kids

Arrive as early as possible. A late start can turn an expensive full-day pass into another version of our three-hour sprint.

Measure your children before booking. Many of the headline waterslides require a minimum height of 48 inches.

Download or study the Aquaventure map before arrival. Decide which slides, pools and marine habitats are most important to your family.

Book only through Atlantis or an authorised partner. Non-resort guests need a valid Atlantis day pass to access the water park and restricted resort areas. 

Check the seasonal hours because the water park can close earlier during parts of the year.

Plan meals around ride times. Stopping for a long lunch during a three-hour visit would have been financially devastating.

Most importantly, allow a full day.

You have already paid for paradise. You may as well stay long enough to enjoy it.

What to Bring to Atlantis Aquaventure

For a family day at Atlantis Aquaventure, pack:

• Swimsuits
• Towels (sand proof)
• Rash shirts (like this cool Turtle one)
• Hats (these are too cute!)
• Drinking water bottle
• Sunscreen
• Small Mexican peso notes
• A waterproof phone pouch
• A dry bag
• Child-sized snorkel equipment, when preferred
• Water shoes
• A change of clothes
• Child flotation equipment, after checking park rules
• Booking confirmation
• Photo identification
• The payment card required for your reservation
• Money or a card for transport
• A clear understanding that everything may cost more than expected

You can rent or purchase some essentials at the resort, but bringing suitable personal items may reduce extra expenses.

Atlantis Cruise Excursion Versus Booking Independently

Cruise passengers can either reserve Aquaventure through their cruise line or purchase an Atlantis day pass independently.

Both approaches have advantages.

Advantages of Booking Through the Cruise Line

A cruise excursion can be reassuring because the logistics are organised for you.

It may include:

• Transport from the port
• Assistance collecting wristbands

Whatever option you choose, work backwards from the ship’s all-aboard time. Build in extra time for traffic, collecting your belongings and at least one child suddenly deciding they must find a bathroom immediately.

A three-hour window is possible, as we proved, but it is not ideal.

For a short port day, a less expensive Nassau activity may offer better value. For a long port day, Aquaventure can become a memorable family excursion when you arrive early and plan carefully.

Atlantis Aquaventure Bahamas vs Dubai

Atlantis operates an Aquaventure water park in both The Bahamas and Dubai, but they are not the same experience.

Aquaventure at Atlantis Paradise Island in The Bahamas covers 141 acres and combines thrilling slides, river rides, pools, white-sand beaches and marine habitats. It feels like a tropical resort and water park rolled into one, with the beach and shark-filled surroundings adding to the atmosphere. 

Aquaventure World at Atlantis, The Palm in Dubai is much bigger in terms of ride choice, with more than 105 slides, rides and attractions. It is marketed as the world’s largest water park and has a stronger focus on record-breaking slides, huge play areas and all-day water park action. 

For pure waterslide variety, Dubai wins. For a tropical island setting, beautiful beaches and the classic Atlantis shark slide – tunnel experience, The Bahamas has a charm of its own.

We visited the Bahamas version, but after seeing how enormous the Dubai park has become, I feel another highly scientific family research trip may be required.

Final Thoughts on Our Atlantis Aquaventure Visit

I loved Nassau and would happily return.

Atlantis was ridiculous in scale, ridiculously expensive for our short visit and ridiculously fun.

I would love to go back, stay at the resort and explore it without checking the time every four minutes.
